About this build

We build this work-inspired ankle boot on a standard D last using genuine brown oxhide. A full 3 inches of height is integrated into the footbed beneath a leather lining. Brogue perforations run along the toe and quarters, while the composite rubber sole keeps the total weight around 17 ounces.

Full oxhide upper

The exterior uses supple brown oxhide with classic wing-tip punching. It softens across the vamp as you break it in, forming natural flex creases without losing its shape at the heel counter.

Concealed 3 inch lift

The hidden lift works with the 1 1/4 inch outer heel to provide a full 3 inches of height. The internal riser sits deep within the 5 3/4 inch shaft, keeping the boot profile balanced.

Composite rubber outsole

We mount the upper to a lightweight composite rubber sole using cement construction. The tread pattern gives traction on hard ground, helping keep the overall weight down to roughly 17 ounces per boot.

Lace closure and pull tab

Sturdy eyelets secure the lace-up front, allowing you to draw the ankle collar tight around the leg. A rear pull tab helps you slide your foot past the internal incline without crushing the leather counter.
