About this build

We build this closed-toe fisherman sandal with a full 3.2 inch lift concealed inside the footbed. The upper is cut from dark blue oxhide and fully lined in smooth leather. An elastic strap secures the fit without pinching, while the molded rubberized bottom keeps each shoe around 15 ounces.

Internal lift build

The footbed conceals a layered riser that adds 3.2 inches of height. Outside, the sandal presents a modest one inch heel profile and a 5 1/4 inch shaft measured to the collar.

Soft oxhide upper

We cut the woven cage from soft dark blue oxhide with a closed toe cap. A full leather inner lining runs against bare skin to prevent hot spots during warm days.

Flexible elastic strap

An elastic strap across the instep stretches as you step, holding the heel counter in place without rigid buckles. The standard D width accommodates regular foot shapes.

Rubberized molded sole

The bottom is an injection molded rubberized unit attached with cement construction. It stays light on the bench at roughly 15 ounces per shoe in size 7.5.
