About this build

Cut from supple black leather, this formal oxford brings a classic profile to formal dress wear. We built a 3 inch lift entirely inside the shoe, paired with an external 1 1/4 inch heel. The low-top shaft measures 5 1/4 inches to seat the heel counter securely.

Internal 3 inch lift

The full 3 inch height addition sits inside the shoe, built into the footbed layers. An external 1 1/4 inch heel preserves the standard dress heel balance while keeping the internal incline stable.

Supple leather upper

We chose soft black leather for the upper, finished with neat double stitching along the structural seams. The leather yields around the vamp during wear and holds a clean dress shine with standard wax polish.

Formal lacing closure

Traditional closed oxford lacing keeps the shoe snug across the bridge of your foot. Thin dress laces draw the facing together over the tongue to secure the foot against the hidden incline.

Sizing and bench fit

This men's build runs slightly small on our last. We recommend ordering a half size up from your usual dress size. A single shoe weighs 19 ounces based on a US size 7.5.
