About this build

We build this formal lace-up on a classic dress last, adding 3.2 inches of height through an internal lift and midsole stack. The black full grain leather upper features double-stitched micro-perforations along the semi-squared cap toe. A 5 1/4 inch shaft holds the heel pocket securely during wear.

Internal lift structure

The full-length lift stack adds 3.2 inches inside the shoe. It slopes gradually toward the forefoot so the foot sits naturally against the dress footbed without crowding the toe box.

Full grain upper

We cut the upper from black full grain leather that takes a deep shine with paste wax. Fine micro-perforations trace the double-stitched semi-squared cap toe, balancing formal lines with clean bench detailing.

Cement construction

The upper is bonded to the sole using cement construction, keeping the profile trim and flexible right out of the box. A single shoe in size 7.5 US weighs approximately 19 ounces.

Shaft and heel counter

The 5 1/4 inch shaft height gives extra depth around the ankle. It keeps the stiffened heel counter snug against the rearfoot, maintaining a standard dress shoe look above the 1 1/4 inch outer heel.
