About this build

We build this formal cap-toe boot on a standard D width last using black oxhide leather. The internal lift adds 2.8 inches, supported by a 1 1/4 inch outer heel and a 6 1/2 inch shaft that conceals the rise. A Goodyear welt secures the upper to a rubberized bottom for dependable daily wear.

Internal lift structure

The concealed footbed adds 2.8 inches of elevation without altering the exterior dress lines. It sits flush against the heel counter, pairing with the 1 1/4 inch external heel to create a balanced, level stance.

Black oxhide upper

We cut the upper from genuine black oxhide, stitched with a traditional cap toe across the vamp. The leather softens with wear and takes a fine cream polish, while a cloth lining keeps the interior breathable.

Goodyear welt build

Stout Goodyear welt stitching binds the leather upper to the rubberized outsole. This method creates a durable bond that withstands repeated flexing on hard pavements, keeping the bottom firmly anchored under the weight of the boot.

Shaft and lace closure
