About this build

We build this formal lace-up on a standard D width last with a narrow cap toe. The genuine oxhide patent leather gives a mirror shine suitable for black-tie wear. Inside, the hidden lift adds 3 inches while the exterior maintains a balanced dress profile with a 1 1/4 inch outer heel.

Patent leather upper

We cut the upper from genuine oxhide patent leather with a clean cap toe seam. The high-shine finish wipes clean with a soft microfiber cloth and holds its deep black gloss through long formal events.

Internal 3 inch lift

The hidden lift build adds 3 inches of height across the footbed. We shape the internal elevator to sit naturally under the heel, supported by a 5 1/4 inch shaft that keeps the ankle seated.

Goodyear welt build

This pair features traditional Goodyear welt construction joining the patent upper to a rubberized bottom. The welt allows resoling over time and keeps the shoe structurally sound through seasons of evening wear.

Full leather lining

The interior is lined in smooth leather from heel to toe box. It breathes naturally during wear, while the closed lacing system lets you adjust tension across the instep for a snug, secure fit.

I got these just to feel the difference between regular ones and size lifters. Surprisingly, there's no real difference. I barely feel the difference other than once you put one shoe on, you are definitely taller on one side. I would say if you are looking to be just a bit taller for an event or show, they work really well.
